Acrylic and eco-solvent based paint on canvas - 91cm x 60cm

This piece was a refection of the lives and people I saw around me at the time.

People being caught up in the cycle of family troubles. Using the milk bottle as I had in the painting “A Light Perspective” as a metaphor for a person I thought it would serve perfectly as the symbol of motherhood or parenthood.

I could see the broken childhood in the adults being reflected into their offspring “transferring” their troubles, passing them on to the next generation.

The mini milk bottle reminded me of school days and the milk we’d be given in the mornings in these, it served perfectly as the child in this set up; the broken child within the adult, reassembled next to it.

I like to create or use real objects to work from or photograph for reference and it was interesting breaking the bottles in a way they wouldn’t shatter and also separating the larger bottle in a clean singular break.
