Typically when we think of surrendering we think of giving in or giving up and a sense of feeling weak couples this train of thought.
The image of waving the white flag though, has an element of truth around it: ‘I can no longer carry on…’ The power of letting go emerges from that thought.
To wave the white flag would bring a sense of release and ultimately a feeling of peace.
After all, isn’t that the feeling we all long for?
Inner peace and a feeling of true connection, with ourselves, our loved ones and the world around us.
Such is the power of letting go.
The truth of who we are and why we are here is exactly that: True Connection and to live our lives with power, purpose and joy!
So what is it that prevents us from living this fulfilled life?
What stops us from harnessing the power of letting go.
Truth Behind The Power Of Letting Go
I have come to learn that my tears represent my truth.
So tears of joy remind me that I feel good and to feel this way for as long as I can.
Tears that come from pain show me I am feeling bad or I am feeling negative emotions.
These are the emotions I explore as they will reveal what truth I am hiding.
Start from small steps to unleash the power of letting go.
I found I didn’t appreciate my negative emotions, why they were there and what they were there to teach me.
I had become used to feeling stuck and frustrated and began to feel weaker and weaker and more and more disconnected from myself, my loved ones and the world around me.
I then realized the power of letting go.
Unleashing The Power Of Letting Go
I believe it is a common misconception for us to feel safe in our pain, because it is all too familiar; holding onto old limiting beliefs by way of habit and we believe we are our emotions.
‘I am happy – I am sad – I am good – I am bad….’
Somehow we believe our physical body is all there is, and that our five senses reveal to us our reality.
The power of letting go changes all that.
This belief system creates our discomfort and our challenges, and we keep holding on to all this nonsense because we believe it is all there is.
We are not taught that we have a choice about how our lives can be, and we are certainly not taught to trust ourselves, how to listen to our bodies and our own intuition.
We fail to understand the power of letting go.
Emotional intelligence: the capacity to be aware of, and control, and express one’s emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically – is one of the greatest gifts we get by unleashing the power of letting go.
Too many of us allow our emotions to rule our lives.
We hand our feelings over to auto pilot without truly understanding that our feelings pass to and through us, and that we are essentially feeling beings.
Learning to trust that there is more to us than ‘meets the eye’, to understand that there is an energy and a power that is greater than who we think we are.
This power resides in us all, and is ready to create the ease and flow in our lives that we are all searching for.
However it is choosing to surrender to this power that is the true meaning of letting go.
Handing over the reigns of our thoughts, feelings and our lives to the greatest power of all is how we experience the purest existence for our lives.
It is easier said than done.
Even though we may be aware of just how powerful we are, and we have the tools to create a magical life, we are still fearful of letting go because we haven’t learnt and practiced how to really trust; we do not see that our strength and power comes from being vulnerable.
Once we are brave enough to express ourselves and all of our emotions, the good the bad and the indifferent, and accept that we are funny and sad and brave and weak and lovable and shameful, we will manifest our true hearts desires and experience ultimate freedom within ourselves and our lives.
To let go and trust our inner guidance system, to feel free of any old beliefs that keep us stuck, frustrated and longing for more is the great act of self-love.
