Deafening Silence: No. 4 by 'H'

This piece, and the following series of paintings, was created after seeing a Crystal Head Vodka Bottle.

I’ve always had a fascination with the Mayan Crystal Skulls and the theories behind them.

Once I had the vodka bottle in my hands I loved playing with light through it and the refracted beams it threw off.

Seeing these I thought it would be interesting to play with that and by flipping the image having it form this middle ground.

Like the Mayan Crystal Skulls it felt like there was a connection between them and made me think of the silence of death but the volume of information in life we hold and share.
As with a lot of my work the names are important and this name just seemed to fit perfectly.
